What do we do?

Prayer

We believe that God answers prayers, so we have a prayer meeting on the first Saturday of each month in Musselburgh. We hold these meetings to pray for our work; our friends and family; people of ill-health; and any other current issues or matters.

Special events

Throughout the year, we organise several special events. Our Christmas Mubarak (celebration) is very popular and well attended in Edinburgh. People come from all over the Lothians, Glasgow, Kirkaldy, Falkirk, and many other places. The Mubarak includes a Christmas message, all-age entertainment, storytelling and a delicious Asian meal.

During the Easter period, we hold an Easter Mubarak, which is a special Church Service. The service includes prayers and hymns in English and Urdu.

Every Summer we hold a free to attend BBQ, serving up a tasty variety of vegetarian, halal and non-halal foods. The Summer BBQ has always been a great opportunity to meet the community, share with friends and (hopefully!) enjoy some summer sun in the heart of Edinburgh. It’s an event for the whole family, especially the kids, who will love the Bouncy Castle!

Potluck suppers

We also hold pot-luck suppers throughout the year. This involves a social gathering in one of our members' homes, in which each person brings a dish of choice their choice to share with each other.

Offering practical help

Spoken English is a problem for many in the Asian community. Therefore we can arrange for individuals, families or groups to be in contact with professionals teaching English. We can also support them to access other services such as housing and employment. We can advise and try to find support for them if they need help on various matters.
